Barcelona Vs Valencia Copa Del Rey Final: Barcelona star ruled out of the cup final

Marc Andre Ter Stegen has been ruled out of the Copa Del Rey final after picking up a knee injury.

Barcelona faced humiliation in the hands of Liverpool as they bowed out of the Champions League in the last four. The Blaugrana, having already won the La Liga, will have a chance to win the double. They will face Valencia in the Copa Del Rey finals at Benito Villamarin in ten days time.

Before that gigantic contest, Ernesto Valverde’s side will take on Eibar away from home on Sunday. It will prove to be an intriguing contest as the hosts have the capability to knock down their opponents at their own patch. They thrashed Real Madrid 3-0 in front of their home supporters, early on in the season.

In the last two games of the season, they will endure their time without the first choice goalkeeper, Marc Andre Ter Stegen. The German International picked up a knee injury, according to the club. The Barcelona shot-stopper is not likely to be risked for the finals without full recovery.

Even though the extension of the injury has not been mentioned, Ter Stegen will watch his side from the stands because of the risk involved in these kinds of injuries. The club will be hoping that the injury experienced by Ter Stegen is not serious. Should he make for the Copa Del Rey final, Jasper Cillessen will get a nod ahead of the current number one. The Dutch International has been guarding the posts for the domestic competitions before he picked up an injury in Semifinals.

Having spent three years as deputy to his fellow teammate, Jasper Cillessen has been linked with a potential move to Benfica. The 30-year-old could probably play his last game for Barcelona at Benito Villamarin later this month.
