David De Gea: Solskjaer makes huge decision over Man Utd star future

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has commented over David De Gea’s Manchester United future.

David De Gea looks out of his normal groove over the last few months, committing plenty of mistakes which has put the club to make a decision. The Spanish International is yet to put pen to paper as his contract ends in 2020 and his 500,000 per week demand has put the club in a hassle who were not prepared for this silly demand.

The former Atletico Madrid shot-stopper, who is linked with a potential move to Paris Saint-German and Juventus has committed five errors in the last five games. Some Red Devils faithful wants Sergio Romero to start the last two games in the Premier League, but Solskjaer has reiterated that the Argentine’s injury means that De Gea will guard the post against Huddersfield and Cardiff.

Speaking in the Pre-match press conference, Solskjaer said: “[De Gea] will play. Sergio was injured yesterday so didn’t train, tweaked his knee, so David’s been training well this week.

“He’s been fantastic this season. Towards the end now he’s been in headlines for the wrong reasons but he has to deal with that.

“The goalkeeping department are fantastic, with Emilio [Alvarez], Sergio, Lee [Grant] and David.

“It’s a tight-knit group, they’ve experienced better times than just now but he’s ready for Sunday.”

When asked whether Romero may have started if not for tweaking his knee, Solskjaer said: “Ifs and buts and hypothetical questions. Sergio knows how much I rate him.”

It is an interesting landscape for Manchester United, who are linked with a move for Atletico Madrid shot-stopper Jan Oblak. The Red Devils are prepared to trigger Slovenian International’s 120 million release clause. There is no doubt that the club will be hoping to explore the possibilities of luring in upgrades in various positions, hence spending this ludicrous amount on a goalkeeper is not appreciable.
