It is often sad when sport and politics get mixed up but that is exactly what is happening right now at FC Barcelona.
The fight for Catalonia to become an independent entity is fast turning very ugly as the great club of Barcelona seems to be losing out on a lot of counts.
Last week’s match between Barcelona and Las Palmas had to be played behind closed doors, something that resulted in the resignation of one of the Barcelona VPs.
Now, it is being reported that Barcelona will not given any away tickets for the big match against Atletico Madrid.

“Due to logistical problems in the new Wanda Metropolitano stadium, Atletico de Madrid cannot supply the tickets previously offered to FC Barcelona supporters clubs ahead of La Liga match on Saturday 14th of October (8.45pm CET),” the statement read. “Therefore, all FC Barcelona supporters clubs ticket applications for the above match have been cancelled.
This is what the Atletico President Cerezo had to say,
“We just focus on football,” Cerezo said. “What concerns us is the game. We do not get into anything else as that is none of our business. For us the game against Barca will be normal. ”
“I ask our fans to go to the game and forget about any circumstances concerning the opponent. We are just interested in the three points. Football is a sport, and politics is politics. At Atletico we never have anything to do with politics.”
“In all games we have security,” he said. “With some teams there is more security. Against Barcelona it will be similar to any big game.”
