Brazil played Belgium in the World Cup quarterfinal.
Belgium pulled out a major upset in what have been a highly eventful World Cup, as the European side overcame Brazil 2-1 to reach the World Cup semifinals. Brazil were pinned to lift the World Cup trophy before the tournament, and hence it comes out as a massive shock.
The game oversaw an absolute masterclass from Kevin de Bruyne, Eden Hazard and Romelu Lukaku as Belgium led a series of counter-attacks in the first half, which led to a 2-0 lead for the European side at half time.
Brazil scored a goal in the second half but couldn’t breach the Belgian defence. Neymar, Coutinho and Jesus, all missed chances which they should’ve converted as Brazil fell short of securing a place in the semifinal.
Belgium will now meet France in the next round of the World Cup. This would be the only third time when the World Cup semifinal lineup will include four European teams. The two other quarterfinals will be played tomorrow.
While England will take on Sweden for a semifinal berth, Croatia will meet the host nation Russia.

Given the amount of Premier League players in this Belgium side, it could well be coming home.

Crazy to think that Hazard-Lukaku-KDB could have been Chelsea’s front three.

Rangers vs. Bury had an attendance of 41,015 tonight!
Which means, 41,015 people missed Brazil vs. Belgium to watch a pre-season friendly.

After Ronaldo and Messi left the World Cup, Neymar finally had the stage to himself to actualise everything that he and his dad believe to be true about his greatness. All he did was fall over
