RR all-rounder's stunner to dismiss Kedar Jadhav

RR all-rounder’s stunner to dismiss Kedar Jadhav: Ben Stokes put on display a whole-hearted effort to dismiss the CSK batsman.

During the 25th match of the ongoing 12th season of the Indian Premier League between Rajasthan Royals and Chennai Super Kings at Jaipur, Rajasthan Royals all-rounder Ben Stokes grabbed a stunner to dismiss Chennai Super Kings middle-order batsman Kedar Jadhav.

It all happened on the penultimate delivery of the sixth over when Jadhav’s attempt of cutting a Jofra Archer delivery saw him playing the ball in the air to the left of Stokes who was fielding at backward point. Timing his jump to perfection, Stokes was seen catching the ball with both his hands.

Given the speed at which the ball was travelling, Stokes’ effort has it in it to count among the best catches of the season.

Jadhav, who came in to bat at No. 5 in the fifth over, ended up scoring 1 (6). In what was the fourth Chennai wicket to fall, their batsmen’s shambolic performance in the powerplay saw them being restricted to 24/4 in six overs in a 152-run chase.

After Super Kings captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni won the toss and chose to field, Royal ended up scoring 151/7 in their allotted quota of 20 overs. Stokes, who came in to bat at No. 6 in the ninth over, top-scored for his team scoring 28 (26) with the help of one four. With bowling figures of 4-0-20-2, CSK all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja was the pick of their bowlers.
