BLR vs GUJ Dream11 Team: Last year’s finalists take on each other as Gujarat Fortunegiants look to avenge their defeat
Day 2 of PKL 7 sees us revel in an enthralling encounter, one between two of the frontrunners for the coveted trophy. Taking on each other in the first of two matches on Sunday are Bengaluru Bulls and Gujarat Fortunegiants, two teams who squared off against each other in the summit clash of PKL 6.
The final last year had seen Pawan Kumar Sehrawat register 22 raid points as the Bulls went onto defeat Gujarat Fortunegiants by a small margin of 38-32, one that had seen the Fortunegiants become unlucky for the side time on the bounce. The newest entrant into the bedlam of PKL and one of the most consistent sides ever since their advent into the marquee league had gone onto lose their second final in as many years with the Bulls winning their first ever title.
“Yes, it was an unforgettable final. But it is the past. We have young legs and fresh josh in the team. We are confident to better our performance as compared to last season. In fact, players are ready to play the match even today. They all are geared up. Josh is certainly very high,” remarked Giants coach Neer Gulia.
And it’s exactly that defeat which will be playing on Gujarat Fortunegiants’ minds when they once again engage against Bengaluru Bulls in the outfit’s opening match of the marquee league. Coached by Neer Gulia, the side have once again invested heavily on their defence, deciding to retain their star defenders for this season as well with the raiding department continuing to be a cause of worry for the side.
Elsewhere for reigning champions Bengaluru Bulls, their opening encounter against Patna Pirates was a riveting affair. Scripting a momentous comeback after finding themselves staring at an imminent defeat, the side were guided by Mahender Singh and Pawan Sehrawat with the two names intertwining to see the side prevail and come out of the match with a 34-32.
Probable Winner
While Gujarat Fortunegiants have an extremely solid defence, one which is more than adept to shut out their opponent’s two man raiding partnership, the attacking facet continues to be a worry for the side. It’s mostly lined up with young, inexperienced names, players yet to prove themselves and they could eventually push back the Fortunegiants this season.
Expect the Bulls to be buoyed after persevering to an edge of the seat thriller one and build on the momentum accorded from that encounter. For us this result will be similar to last year’s final with the Bulls making it two wins on the bounce for themselves.
Defenders for BLR vs GUJ Dream11
With 60 points in the previous season and a steady performance in the opening match, Bengaluru Bull’s Mahender Singh is our first pick in this department. He was a pivotal figure in his side’s win yesterday, showing extreme determination and valour to craft out a draining but extremely impressive showing.
He’s going to be accompanied by Vijay Kumar with his 11 credit price tag justifying the substitute role he’s going to play for us while coming in from the Fortunegiants is one of their mainstays in the form of Ruturaj Koravi.
All-Rounders for BLR vs GUJ Dream11
The two players come in over here, the one from either side for us. From the Bulls we have opted for Ashish Kumar after his 23 point showing in the league opener for his side. He registered 40 raiding points in the previous season and with his side putting him in a more defensive role for this season, we see him getting points in both the departments for us.
From the Fortunegiants we have gone ahead with Rohit Gulia. In a paper thin raiding department, he should be asked to lead the attacking front of his side and try to perturb the Bulls who showed they can crumble under pressure at the back against the Pirates.
Raiders for BLR vs GUJ Dream11
With 9 points in the opening match of the tournament, our picking out Pawan Kumar Sehrawat was ascertained. With Rohit Kumar failing to provide the requisite company to him, Sehrawat still managed to come up with good points and will be looking to do the same again.
We have a pick from Gujarat as well with Sachin Tanwar closing out our Dream 11 side for this fixture.
Captain And Vice-Captain
Mahender Singh becomes our captain for this pertinent encounter while its Sehrawat who s our vice-captain.
