Callum Hudson-Odoi: Chelsea youngster shares first video after successful surgery
Callum Hudson-Odoi underwent successful surgery for ruptured achilles, and shared a video on social media.
Chelsea youngster Callum Hudson-Odoi is set to miss the rest of the season after suffering from an injury during the game against Burnley.
The 18-year-old was substituted in the 41st minute of the game, as Burnley’s compact defensive performance held Chelsea to a draw.
Hudson-Odoi tweeted after the game that he would miss the entire season and Chelsea confirmed that he would have an operation for ruptured achilles.
The footballer informed earlier today that the operation was successful, and sent a message to the club’s supporters through a video message.
Callum Hudson-Odoi’s message:
The Chelsea youngster thanked the fans for their support after he suffered the injury, and confirmed that the operation was successful.
For a large part of the season, Hudson-Odoi was confined to the bench in the Premier League. However, as the schedule turned tight, Maurizio Sarri handed the youngster his first league start against Brighton earlier this month.
He impressed the Chelsea fans almost immediately as he assisted the first goal of the game to Olivier Giroud.
Hudson-Odoi became a regular before facing the injury which ended his season.
Here’s the message from the youngster:
Opperation was Successful, Thank God always and thank you all for your messages and support, the return begins now!!!❤️❤️🙏🏾 pic.twitter.com/14qw4rgRK2

Chelsea are currently at the fourth position in the Premier League, but their draw against Burnley could come to haunt them as the race gets tighter for the top-4.
The Blues have played one game more than Arsenal and Manchester United, who take on the field tonight against Wolves and Manchester City respectively.
Maurizio Sarri’s side has three league games remaining in the season which includes a trip to Old Trafford on the weekend. Chelsea have also reached the Europa League semifinal, where the side takes on Eintracht Frankfurt.
