Chelsea star rejects new 2-year contract and runs the risk of leaving the club on a Bosman transfer at the end of the current season.
Chelsea star Willian has rejected a new 2-year contract from Chelsea. The Brazilian is keen for a 3-year contract extension. Should they fail to come to an agreement, Willian can leave the club on a free transfer. As it stands, he is already free to agree a pre-contract with other clubs and according to Brazilian outlet UOL, he has already been approached by other Premier League sides.

The Brazilian had previously spoken on the subject. After Chelsea’s 3-0 loss to Bayern Munich in the Champions League at the Stamford Bridge he told Esporte Interativo.
‘Chelsea offered me two years, and they are not going to change what they offered” .
‘I said I wanted three more years. The situation is difficult because of this, I really don’t know if it will be possible.
‘My goal is to continue working and focus on this remainder of the season, so that Chelsea can continue winning the games for the remainder of the season.’
Despite there being question marks over his future at the club, Willian has been an integral component of Frank Lampard’s side this season. He has made 36 appearances this season. William also opened the scoring in their crucial FA Cup encounter against Liverpool on Tuesday night.
However, even if he agrees to stay with the club, it is likely that he will play second fiddle. The emergence of Christian Pulisic and purchase of Hakim Ziyech will likely relegate him to the bench next season. Besides, Lampard has shown a willingness to play youth more often. So despite being with the club since 2013, it is unlikely that the club will bend to the demands of a man who, despite all his contributions over the years, is no longer indispensable to them.
