Chelsea Transfer News: Frank Lampard in talks with Serie A Star for £100m move to the Premier League in the January Transfer Window.
Chelsea are free to take to the transfer market after having their transfer ban revoked last month. The Blues started the season brilliantly under Frank Lampard who brilliantly led his young squad. However, in recent times, it has become evident that the side need new faces if Chelsea are to compete for trophies in the future.

It seems that Chelsea are ready to get back in the transfer market with a huge splash. According to Corriere del Mezzogiorno (via Daily Star) Chelsea are keen on signing Napoli defender Kalidou Koulibaly for a fee of around £100 million.
London rivals Tottenham are also said to be interested in the player and his agent has already spoken with both the clubs. Both sides are lacking severely in their defence. However, Chelsea have the financial might to pull the deal off having seen the Summer Transfer window off without spending a dime.
Koulibaly will instantly improve Chelsea’s defence
Koulibaly has been one of the best defenders in the world over the last few seasons. The Napoli centerback will certainly be an upgrade for Frank Lampard; who is currently relying on Kurt Zouma and Fikayo Tomori. The pair, while exciting, are quite prone mistakes considering their inexperience.
Koulibaly still has 3 years left on his contract with Napoli. However, the rift within the club could see him and several others push for a move. Should Chelsea manage to pull the deal off, he could very well have the same impact on Chelsea as Virgil Van Dijk has had on Liverpool.
