Coutinho to Manchester United

Coutinho to Manchester United: Barcelona’s Philippe Coutinho has failed to step up for the side after his £142m move from Liverpool.

Barcelona are currently first in the La Liga table. Ernesto Valverde’s side is five points clear of the second-placed Atletico Madrid.

However, the situation surrounding Philippe Coutinho continues to remain a concern for Barcelona. The Brazilian has made only 9 starts in La Liga so far, making 16 appearances.

He has only scored four goals in the league, and has reportedly fell out of favour with Valverde.

It has now been reported that the former Liverpool midfielder has caught the interest of Manchester United. Here are the full details:

Coutinho to Manchester United:

The Brazilian midfielder is facing a lack of game time at Barcelona, and the speculations surrounding his move away from the club have risen over the past few weeks.

Manchester United have emerged as the frontrunners to secure a deal for the midfielder, according to Calciomercato. The Italian outlet has reported that Barcelona will ‘listen’ to offers for Coutinho, but will likely not settle for less than the amount they paid to secure his transfer.

It has also been reported that Manchester United will wait till the summer and only make a bid after the finalisation of a permanent manager at the club.

Barcelona are also eyeing a move for Neymar, according to the report. Even as Neymar’s father recently lashed out at the ‘fake news’ which suggested that Neymar is ‘desperate’ for a move back to Camp Nou, Barca’s sporting director Pep Segura stated that the Brazilian forward is not in the transfer market.

Segura insisted that Barcelona would’ve considered the possibility of a transfer for Neymar if he was available. But the report states that Barcelona are only considering a sale of Coutinho to raise funds for a speculated mega-money move for Neymar, once the forward is available for transfer.

Thomas Tuchel, the manager of Paris Saint Germain downplayed the reports concerning Neymar’s move.

“I think Neymar feels really happy, he’s professional,” Tuchel said. “I think he feels good here, both in the dressing room and on the pitch, he is disciplined, he does a lot of things on the pitch.”
