England’s pacer Lauren Bell is just 22 years old and is slowly making her mark in international cricket. Bell started playing the game at a very young age and played various sports not just cricket. Her father was quite supportive in his sporting journey and has played a big part in her progress.

Bell was born on January 2, 2001, in Swindon, England. She started her cricketing journey with Hungerford Cricket Club and was the first girl to play for Bradfield College’s 1st XI. Bell was excellent in Football and other athletics events as well. Till the age of 16, she played for Reading Football Club.

Bell was a constant part of her state team in multiple sports. She is a tall bowler and got the name ‘The Shard’ because of her height. The pacer is pursuing her degree in Sports Science from Loughborough University. She made her international debut in 2022 in a Test match against South Africa.

Andy Bell is the father of Lauren and he was the one who asked Bell to choose one sport. At the age of 16, Bell had to choose between cricket or football as Andy could just afford one sport. She chose cricket as she was quite good at it and started training at the Vipers cricket academy. It can be said that she made a great decision.

Morag Bell is Lauren’s mother and is a teacher by profession. Lauren’s sister’s name is Colette Bell and she is also a cricketer who represents Berkshire Women’s Cricket Team.

Bell received a cap from the charitable organization ‘Chance to Shine’ for inspiring the young cricketers. She became a part of first ever Women’s Premier League where UP Warriorz acquires her services for a price of INR 30 Lakh.
