Ball Tampering video Lord's: Twitterati accuse English fielder of ball tampering as visuals of stepping on the ball with spikes go viral

Ball Tampering: An English fielder was seen rubbing the ball with his boot as visuals go viral from the second Test at Lord’s.

During the fourth day of the second Test of the ongoing India’s tour of England at Lord’s, an English fielder was seen rubbing the ball with his boot which had spikes attacked to it.

It all happened in the 34th over which was being bowled by England all-rounder Sam Curran. The visuals shown on live television didn’t reveal the face of the fielder.

Having said that, it remains to be proved if he was intentionally wanting to tamper with the ball or the incident just happened unintentionally when he was looking to stop the ball with his foot.

It took no time for the visuals and the images of the incident to go viral across social media platforms as Indian fans were pretty confident of foul play in the second session of Day 4.

As far as the situation of the match is concerned, India’s lead in the second innings has crossed the 50-run mark as senior batsmen Cheteshwar Pujara and Ajinkya Rahane are putting together a rescue act after the visitors lost Lokesh Rahul (5), Rohit Sharma (21) and Virat Kohli (20) in the morning session.

For England, pacer Mark Wood and Curran have picked two and one wicket respectively in this innings so far.
