Can RR Qualify for Playoffs of IPL 2023?

Rajasthan Royals ended up on the losing side yet again after a praiseworthy batting performance, to register three consecutive defeats since their win against the Chennai Super Kings on April 27.

However, their decent performances during the initial days of the season has meant that they are still placed at the fourth spot in the points table, with five wins and six defeats across 11 matches.

Coincidentally, they ended up on the losing side for the second time in three matches, after failing to defend 17 runs off the final Over.

While it was Mumbai IndiansTim David (45* off 14) the other night at the Wankhede Stadium, it was Sunrisers Hyderabad’s Abdul Samad (17* off 7) tonight who robbed them of the two crucial points.

Can RR Qualify for Playoffs of IPL 2023?

The Rajasthan Royals are indeed in a state of bother, but perhaps need not press the panic button as yet, as they could still end up collecting 16 points after winning their remaining three league matches.

They can take some solace from the fact that three other teams in Mumbai Indians, Royal Challengers Bangalore, and Punjab Kings are tied on 10 points each with a negative Net Run Rate (NRR) against their names.

RR, with a positive NNR of +0.388 are above them in the table, but have played an extra match as well.

Having said it all, one more loss for them will surely make them enter in the territory where they will have to rely on other teams’ results to go their way, in order to qualify for the playoffs.

Rajasthan Royals remaining league matches in IPL 2023

Rajasthan will next face the Kolkata Knight Riders at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata on May 11 (Thursday). They will then play their final home match (in Jaipur) this season against the Royal Challengers Bangalore on May 14 (Sunday).

Their last league match will be against the Punjab Kings at the HPCA Stadium in Dharamsala, on May 19 (Friday).
