The Indian domestic men’s cricket season 2023-24 is set to start with Duleep Trophy. This tournament was reinstated last year after a gap of three long years where West Zone defeated South Zone in the final. A total of six zones will be taking part in the tournament this season.

Being the finalists last year, West Zone and South Zone are already qualified for the semi-finals. Central Zone will face East Zone in the first quarter-final, whereas the second quarter-final will be played between North Zone and North-East Zone. The matches will be played at two venues i.e. KSCA Ground in Alur and M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru.
Apart from the final, the rest of the matches will be four-day affairs. Some of the biggest names in the circuit will make their presence known in the tournament. Earlier the batting duo of Yashasvi Jaiswal and Ruturaj Gaikwad were part of the West Zone. They have now been replaced by Suryakumar Yadav and Cheteshwar Pujara.
There have been shocking exclusions as well. Kerala’s all-rounder Jajaj Saxena has been one of the most consistent performers and he is furious over not getting selected. Batter Baba Indrajith’s is also a notable absentee and wicket-keeper Dinesh Karthik also raised his voice for the same.
