Eden Gardens Pitch Report for IPL 2023 Match Between KKR and GT in Kolkata

The 39th match of Indian Premier League 2023 will be played between Kolkata Knight Riders and Gujarat Giants at Kolkata’s Eden Gardens. This ground has hosted some entertaining games in the season so far and the fans would want the same to repeat this time around as well.

The Knight Riders have won three of their eight matches so far in the tournament. Batter Jason Roy played a blinder in the last match and all-rounder David Wiese was excellent in the last overs along with batter Rinku Singh. If the bowlers can perform well, KKR will have a strong chance to win.

Gujarat Titans have won five of their seven matches and they are one of the best teams in the tournament. The beauty of this team is that they are not dependent on any single player. Almost all the players have chipped in with performances which is a big plus for the side.

The pitch at Eden Gardens has been a graveyard for the bowlers so far in the tournament. This is the fourth match of IPL 2023 at this ground and all three matches so far have been high-scoring. The track has been an absolute belter with no help whatsoever for the bowlers.

It is a flat surface and the ball is coming onto the bat very nicely. The outfield is super fast here which makes the job of the batters a lot easier. The average score this season has been 222 runs which tells the story of Kolkata’s wicket. All three matches have been won by the teams batting first. The spinners have done a little better than the pacers.

The dew plays a big part in Kolkata and the captains will still prefer to chase despite the opposite results. The boundaries are very small at this venue and scoring sixes won’t be a thing of worry for the batters. We can expect the runs to flow again in this match.
