Ekana Lucknow Cricket Stadium Pitch Report for LSG vs CSK IPL 2023 Match
Lucknow Super Giants will take on Chennai Super Kings in the 45th match of Indian Premier League 2023. The game will be played at the Bharat Ratna Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ekana Cricket Stadium in Lucknow. This pitch has been one of the toughest pitches to bat on.
The Super Giants have lost their last two matches in their home conditions. Captain KL Rahul got injured in the last match and the team will sweat upon his fitness. The duo of all-rounder Marcus Stoinis and batter Nicholas Pooran will again be vital for the side. Spinner Ravi Bishnoi will look to continue his good form.
Chennai Super Kings lost their last match and they will aim for a comeback this time around. The form of their batters has been excellent but the bowlers have failed to impress. Captain MS Dhoni was clearly frustrated after the defeat against Punjab Kings.
Ekana Lucknow Cricket Stadium Pitch Report for LSG vs CSK IPL 2023 Match
The track at the Ekana Stadium has been the worst one for the batting in the tournament so far. There is absolutely no help for the batters out there in the middle. This is a low and slow pitch where the slower balls are expected to dominate. The spinners will get a grip from the surface as well which will make run-scoring even more difficult.
“It is a black soil pitch, so the bounce is relatively low. May not be high-scoring,” Sanjay Manjrekar said in his pitch analysis on Star Sports ahead of LSG vs RCB match.
This pitch becomes tough for batting as the match goes on. Although, having a target in front can be beneficial as well so that the teams can bat accordingly. The batters will have to settle in first in order to score some runs. This is not a surface where blind hitting will work.
The average first innings score in IPL 2023 here has been 147 runs and this can be enough to win matches. This might be Lucknow’s home ground, but Chennai will love these conditions more than the home team.
