The first Test match of the ongoing India’s tour of England will commence at the Trent Bridge from tomorrow. In what will be the 11th five-match Test series between England and India, it will also be their 35th Test series against each other.
Having already played a four-match Test series earlier this year, this will also be the first time when England and India will play a total of nine Test matches in a year.
A similarity between both the teams is that they will be taking the field without their first-choice players due to various reasons. While England will be without vice-captain Ben Stokes, India will miss the services of opening batsmen Shubman Gill and Mayank Agarwal.

As far as replacements are concerned, neither of England and India have announced their Playing XI on the eve of the match. In a bid to retain balance in Stokes’ absence, England are expected to play both Sam Curran and Craig Overton in the Nottingham Test. India, on the other hand, have a like-for-like replacement in batsman Lokesh Rahul.

Sony Network will be broadcasting this five-match Test series between England and India in India. As was the case during the recently concluded India’s tour of Sri Lanka, the Test series will also be telecast on Sony SIX, Sony TEN 3 and Sony TEN 4.
Sony’s extensive coverage will see them televising matches in four languages namely English, Hindi, Tamil and Telugu. While Sony SIX and Sony TEN 3 will be televising matches in England and Hindi commentary respectively, Sony TEN 4 will be televising this series in Tami/Telugu.
Online users can stream the match on Sony’s streaming application named Sony LIV. It is worth mentioning that fans no longer have the option of watching the match on Airtel Xstream app as Sony Network’s channels are no longer available on this platform.

As far as the local fans in England are concerned, they will also be able to watch the Nottingham Test on their televisions by tuning in to the tried and tested Sky Sports Cricket.
