India’s spin duo of Ravichandran Ashwin and Kuldeep Yadav proved their batting powers in the 1st test of the 2-match series against Bangladesh. Both of them stitched a brilliant partnership for the 8th wicket and proved the depth of Indian batting in the longest format of the game.

Shreyas Iyer and Cheteshwar Pujara scored their respective half-centuries for the Indian team, whereas Rishabh Pant played an aggressive knock of 46 runs in 45 balls. Iyer was playing well, but he missed a deserving century and Team India were 293-7 at one stage.
Ashwin and Kuldeep then joined hands and stitched a brilliant partnership of 92 runs between them to give India a stable score in the match. Ashwin scored a brilliant half-century, whereas Kuldeep managed to score 40 runs.
Highest 8th wicket partnership in Test cricket
The English duo of Jonathan Trott and Stuart Broad have the record of the highest 8th wicket partnership in test cricket when both of them stitched 332 runs against Pakistan in 2010 at the Lord’s in London. Trott played a knock of 184 runs, whereas Broad scored 169 runs. England won that match by an inning and 225 runs.
Pakistan’s Wasim Akram and Saqlain Mushtaq stitched 313 runs against Zimbabwe in 1996 at Sheikhpura. Pakistan were struggling at 7-237, but they lost their 8th wicket at 550 runs. Akram was at his very best, and he scored a brilliant double-hundred (257 runs), whereas Mushtaq fought 359 balls to score 79 runs.
The Kiwi pair of Stephen Fleming and James Frankling added 256 runs (3rd highest) against South Africa in 2006, whereas Nathan Astle and Adam Praore added 253 runs (4th highest) against Australia in 2001. England’s duo of Les Ames and Gubby Allen had 246 runs partnership, which is at the 5th in the list.
