Hyderabad Cricket Stadium boundary length: Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium ground size in metres

After a thumping series win against Sri Lanka at home, the Indian team will now welcome the Blackcaps, who just won an ODI series in Pakistan last week. The encounters between India and New Zealand are always a treat to watch as the visitors have the neck of punching above their weights.

The Indian team will definitely go as the favourites to win the series, and the form of their players is excellent as well. Mohammed Siraj has been absolutely brilliant, whereas Kuldeep Yadav has also impressed with limited opportunities. Rohit Sharma has not scored a century for long now, and he will have a lot of eyeballs on him.

The Blackcaps have rested Kane Williamson and Tim Southee for the tour, and they have some fresh faces in their ranks. Devon Conway has been solid with the bat, whereas Tom Latham also has a brilliant record against India in ODIs. It will be interesting to see how the Kiwi spinners will fare in this series.

Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium has a seating capacity of 55,000, and the match is expected to be a sold-out affair. It is certainly one of the most important venues in India, and the ODI cricket is coming back here after a break of almost four years. Although, this ground hosted a T20I between India and Australia a few months ago.

This pitch has been tailor-made for the batters, and they have dominated the proceedings. Even the outfield is so fast that it makes the job of the fielders very difficult. In some of the stadiums, the longer boundaries aid the bowlers, but the case is not the same at this very venue.

The straighter boundaries in Hyderabad are around 69-71 metres, whereas the square boundaries are around 66-69 metres. The boundaries behind the wickets are just around 55-58 metres. It is clear that the boundaries here in Hyderabad are on the smaller side, and the batters won’t find it tough to clear the ropes here. A high-scoring encounter is on the cards.
