ILT20 full form: What is ILT20 2023? What is DPW meaning in cricket?

The T20 format has grown in the sport of cricket at an unmatched speed in terms of popularity among audiences. Less than a couple of decades old, T20 is the most global format of cricket with over hundreds of countries participating in international matches.

Although sanctioned by the ICC (International Cricket Council), the advent of multiple T20 tournaments around the world which are run by private entities have really made the sport wide-ranging.

The extent of T20’s prevalence can be observed from the fact that a couple of new T20 tournaments have started this week itself. Presence of numerous international cricketers across both the tournaments have made them an alluring entity for the fans across the globe.

ILT20 full form

For those who don’t know, ILT20 stands for International League T20. Been planned and executed by the ECB (Emirates Cricket Board), the USP of this league is that a maximum of nine overseas cricketers can be present in one Playing XI. All other major T20 leagues consist of an opportunity for a maximum of four overseas cricketers in an XI.

A primary reason for ILT20 to allow a large majority of overseas cricketers is the comparatively inexperienced nature of local players of UAE. That being said, this tournament brings a never-seen-before opportunity of rubbing shoulders with the best names in the world for them.
