During the first day of the first Test match of India’s tour of Bangladesh 2022 in Chattogram, India captain KL Rahul won the toss and chose to bat. Leading only for the second time in this format, Rahul was pretty confident about his decision on what appears to be a flat surface.

Having last played a Test match in completely different conditions some five and a half months ago, India have made five changes to their Playing XI from that match at Edgbaston.
Rahul, all-rounders Axar Patel and Ravichandran Ashwin, spinner Kuldeep Yadav and fast bowler Umesh Yadav have come in for batter Hanuma Vihari, all-rounders Ravindra Jadeja and Shardul Thakur and fast bowlers Mohammed Shami and Jasprit Bumrah.
The development means that India will take the field with two pacers and a three-man spin-bowling attack. Furthermore, opener Shubman Gill has retained his spot despite uncapped batter Abhimanyu Easwaran’s current form.

Bangladesh, who are playing their first Test since June, have made four changes to their Playing XI bringing in debutant opener Zakir Hasan, batters Yasir Ali and Mushfiqur Rahim and spinner Taijul Islam in place of batters Tamim Iqbal, Mahmudul Hasan Joy and Anamul Haque and pacer Shoriful Islam.
Much like the visitors, the hosts will also field two pacers and three spinners at the Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium today.
