Ishan Kishan (201 off 131 deliveries) hogged the entire limelight during the third and final ODI between India and Bangladesh at the Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium in Chattogram today, as the hosts finally had a loss under their name, after what has overall been yet another dominating show by them in the format at home.

Having already taken an unassailable 2-0 lead in the series, the hosts opted to bowl first at Chattogram today, but little did they know that a certain 24-year-old Southpaw batter was about to make their lives miserable for the next three to four hours on the field.
Opening the innings in place of the injured Rohit Sharma, Ishan could not have had a more tightened grip to the opportunity that came his way, as he not only smashed his maiden ODI century off 85 deliveries, but also went on to ruthlessly double the score in the next 41 deliveries to become the youngest-ever player to hit the rare double ton in the format.
Such was his dominance in the entire innings, that he even broke the ‘Universe Boss’ Chris Gayle’s record (off 138 deliveries) of hitting the fastest double century in the format, taking mere 126 deliveries to achieve the feat.
He even overshadowed Virat Kohli (113 off 91) during the innings, as the former skipper notched up his 72nd international century as well; his first in the format since August 2019.
Resultantly, on the back of the duo’s 290-run stand for the second wicket, team India registered the score of 409/8 in their 50 Overs.
India vs Bangladesh Man of the Series ODIs
It was too steep a hill to climb for the Bangladeshi batters, as they they were bundled up on a paltry 182 in mere 34 Overs, to lose the encounter by 227 runs.
Despite the crushing defeat, the hosts deserved to celebrate the series win, which could have not been possible without back-to-back stellar contributions, particularly in the batting department by their allrounder Mehidy Hasan Miraz.
Mehidy’s unbeaten 38* (39) during the first ODI, snatched victory from India’s jaws while chasing, as he helped Bangladesh register a famous one-wicket victory with a match-winning half-century stand for the 10th wicket alongside Mustafizur Rahman.
Come the second ODI, with his team reeling at 69/6, he smashed his maiden ODI century, to help Bangladesh accomplish back-to-back series victory against India in ODIs.
For his 141 runs across 3 innings at an average of 141, and for also scalping 4 wickets, Mehidy Hasan Miraz was adjudged the ‘Player of the Series’.
