The third ODI of the ongoing New Zealand’s tour of India will be played at the Holkar Stadium tomorrow. Having last hosted an international match in the form of an India-South Africa T20I, Indore will be hosting an international match after three and a half months. In what is going to be the sixth ODI in the city, it will be played after more than five-and-a-half years.

Coming on the back of a five-match winning spree, India will be looking to add another win to their belt. Assuming that they are able to do the same, the home team can be proud of consecutive bilateral series whitewashes right at the start of an ICC Cricket World Cup year. Been a participant in all the previous ODIs here, readers must note that India have never lost an ODI at this venue.
New Zealand, meanwhile, are expected to be self-aware with respect to their poor performance in the first two matches. A team worthy of doing much better in spite of playing without regular captain Kane Williamson, the BlackCaps would want to win their last ODI in India before the World Cup later this year. The visitors have never played an ODI at this stadium.

While two Indore ODIs have been won by chasing teams, the remaining three have been won by the team batting first. Having said that, it is noteworthy that both the instances of the former had come in high-scoring contests. The above mentioned second-highest innings total at this stadium is also the highest successful run-chase here.
