With just one match left in the series which was already lost, team India decided to hand the Southpaw batter Ishan Kishan an opportunity to open alongside Shikhar Dhawan, with the latter only making it to the playing XI due to an unforced injury picked by skipper Rohit Sharma, in the previous ODI against Bangladesh.

Talk about grabbing opportunities and how! The 24-year-old smashed his maiden century of 85 deliveries, and then doubled the score in mere 41 deliveries, to obliterate the Bangladeshi bowling line-up and get Out only after piling on 210 individual runs off mere 138 balls.
He not only became the youngest batter to smash a double ton in the ODI format, but also went on accomplishing the rare landmark in the fewest deliveries as well (126), breaking the record of the Windies legend Chris Gyle.
Alongside former skipper Virat Kohli (113), Ishan stitched together a 290-run stand for the second wicket, and take the team total to 409/8 in 50 Overs and pave the way for a humongous 227-run victory – the third-highest for India in ODIs.
Ishan Kishan family
Ishan Kishan was born in the Newada district in Bihar in the year 1998 to Pranav Kumar Pandey (father) and Suchitra Singh (mother).
Son of a builder, and hailing from a rather modest and conservative family, Ishan might well have led another ordinary life had it not been for his childhood coach who saw the spark in him to make a mark for himself in the sport.
His cricketing journey could not have been possible without the sacrifice made by his elder brother Raj Kishan. Raj, who used to play Cricket as well, had decided to support the family financially after their father had made sure that only one of the two could afford to take up the sport as a career.
After Bihar Cricket Association’s disputes with the BCCI, the family had taken the tough decision to relocate to Ranchi, Jharkhand, where Ishan would go on to play for the Jharkhand domestic side in the various age-group levels.
