India vice-captain KL Rahul is somehow managing ways to find himself in a position to allure critics irrespective of the format or his role in the team.

Only Indian batter to challenge the Bangladeshi bowlers in the recently concluded first ODI against Bangladesh in Mirpur, fans were once again finding faults in Rahul as he erred at an unpardonable point in the match.
Playing an ODI as a wicket-keeper batter for the first time in 20 months after wicket-keeper batter Rishabh Pant was ruled out of the series, Rahul was at the wrong end of a fielding error in a crunch situation. It all happened on the third delivery of the 43rd over when Bangladesh all-rounder Mehidy Hasan Miraz mis-timed a Shardul Thakur delivery high into the air only to be dropped by Rahul.
A catching opportunity which could have perhaps attempted in a better and easier manner by substitute fielder Rajat Patidar at fine leg, Rahul running all the way back to find himself in an awkward position while grabbing the ball provided a game-changing reprieve to Miraz.
Batting at 15* with 32 more runs needed to win the match at the time of the drop, Miraz ended up scoring a match-winning 38* (39) with the help of four fours and two sixes to seal the chase with four overs remaining. The fact that India needed only one wicket to win the match when Rahul dropped a catch hurt the Indian fans after the hosts gained a 1-0 series lead with a couple of matches to be played.
