Sachin Tendulkar got emotional after seeing mother Rajni Tendulkar in stands
In an interview with Gaurav Kapoor on the show Breakfast with Champions, Tendulkar revealed why he got emotional during his last test at the Wankhede Stadium. He revealed that his mother Rajni Tendulkar was in the stands for the very first time in his career. Tendulkar said that his mother never even attended a friendly game with him as she used to be tense.
“My mother was there for my final match, the 200th test. That was what got me emotional,” Sachin Tendulkar said on Breakfast with Champions.
“Because the rest of the family and friends had all been there. My mother was the only one who hadn’t seen me play. Never ever! Not even a friendly. She used to be very tense.”
Tendulkar later revealed that he was quite superstitious about his family members attending any of his matches. He said that once wives of the other players forced Anjali Tendulkar to watch a match in Australia. Tendulkar insists that he did not see her, but got out on the very first ball. Anjali did not watch any game after it in the stadiums (before Tendulkar’s last match).
