The first T20I of the ongoing Bangladesh’s tour of New Zealand is all set to be played at the Seddon Park in Hamilton tomorrow. The afternoon match will commence the last leg of New Zealand’s international summer season.
Given how New Zealand thumped Bangladesh in the recently concluded three-match series, it goes without saying that the hosts will start as the favourites in the shortest format as well despite not playing a full-strength squad.
It is worth mentioning that a lot of New Zealand’s IPL-bound players have been rested for this series. However, the presence of stand-in captain Tim Southee, opening batsman Martin Guptill and spinner Ish Sodhi still provide experience to their squad. Bangladesh, on the other hand, will be without tried and tested names such as Tamim Iqbal and Shakib Al Hasan.

The last time when New Zealand and Bangladesh had locked horns in a T20I was more than four years ago in Mount Maunganui. On the back of a 3-0 series victory back in the day, New Zealand had maintained their unbeaten T20I record against Bangladesh.

As has been the case during this international summer in New Zealand, its last leg in the form of a three-match T20I series will also not be available on television channels in India.
However, streaming platform Fan Code will be streaming the whole tour at a nominal price. Unlike West Indies and Pakistan’s tour of New Zealand, fans no longer have the option of buying a pass only for the first match. Fans, who wish to buy a pass only for the full series (three T20Is), will have to pay INR 35 on the website or mobile application of FanCode.
It is worth mentioning that Fan Code have also launched monthly and annual subscriptions, details of which can be seen on their website and mobile application.
As far as the fans in Bangladesh are concerned, they will be able to watch the Hamilton T20I on their televisions by tuning in to Gazi TV (GTV). Fans in New Zealand will be able to watch the T20I series on Spark Sport.
