After an unfortunate, eleventh hour cancellation of the series in September 2021 over security threat, New Zealand are finally set to take on Pakistan in a three-match ODI series on latter’s home soil after 19 years.

The first match will take place on January 9 (tomorrow) at the National Stadium in Karachi, which is the host venue for the next two matches as well on January 9 and 11.
With eyes on this year’s ODI World Cup in India, both the teams have come up with some new names in their squad for the imminent series.

Uncapped players in batter Tayyab Tahir and wrist spinner Usama Mir have been included in Pakistan’s 16-member squad, which will be led by Babar Azam. Bowling allrounder Kamran Ghulam has also been handed a maiden ODI call-up after being part of the squad in the recently concluded Test series.

Southpaw batters in Shan Masood and Haris Sohail have also returned back in the ODI squad.
As for the Kiwis, Kane Williamson will be back leading the side in the format, which includes a maiden call-up for the allrounder Henry Shipley.

Online tickets booking for the imminent ODI series between Pakistan and New Zealand had already commenced on January 5. The good news for the fans is that the tickets are still available for all the three matches at the time of writing.
The match tickets are bracketed under different divisions – general enclosures (Nasim-ul-Ghani, Iqbal Qasim, Mohammad Brothers, Intikhab Alam and Wasim Bari), first-class (Asif Iqbal, Waqar Hasan and Majid Khan), premium (Imran Khan, Quaid, Wasim Akram and Zaheer Abbas), and finally VIP (Hanif Mohammad, Javed Miandad and Fazal Mahmood).
The prices for the general enclosure is PKR250, first-class PKR500, PKR750 for premium, and PKR1500 for VIP category.
