Having not played a single ODI in Pakistan for over 19 years, New Zealand will have played eight of them in around four months by the end of an imminent five-match series starting with the first ODI in Rawalpindi tomorrow.

If truth be told, it is rare for any international team to tour a specific country twice within four months. However, with ICC Cricket World Cup to be played in India later in the year, the Black Caps wouldn’t mind gaining as much experience as possible of the Asian conditions.
In spite of playing each format once of late, the visitors would be exceedingly pleased with the fact that they haven’t lost a series in Pakistan during their latest visits. Pakistan, on the other hand, would be mindful of not being able to win a single series against the Kiwis in this period. Therefore, would be desperate to bring an end to their home season on a winning note.
Although there isn’t a major difference in Pakistan vs New Zealand ODI head-to-head records, New Zealand have won 14 as compared to seven bilateral ODI series wins by Pakistan over the years. As far as playing in Pakistan is concerned, the home team has won five in comparison to a couple of bilateral ODI series victories for New Zealand.
