Lucknow Super Giants fast bowler Mohsin Khan has dedicated this match-winning spell of bowling tonight against Mumbai Indians, to his seriously ill father who had been in the hospital for the past ten days.

The left-arm pacer was handed the task to defend 11 runs off the final Over. Before him were the likes of Tim David (32*) and Cameron Green (4*), with the former having already pummeled Naveen-ul-Haq (0/37) for 19 runs during the penultimate Over.
A perfect mix of slower deliveries, execution of the Yorkers, and changes in lengths had made sure that the 24-year-old would help his side register a five-run victory at Lucknow’s Ekana Cricket Stadium.
Having leaked 21 runs off his first two Overs, he ended the match with bowling figures of 3-0-26-1, and helped his side inch further close to confirm the playoffs berth.
Mohsin Khan Dedicates Stellar Bowling Performance to Seriously Ill Father
During the post-match interaction with Star Sports Network, Khan revealed that his father had suffered a brain stroke of late and was discharged from the ICU last night itself.
He further added that before joining the LSG squad, he had promised his father that he’d play for him and hoped that he must have watched his performance tonight.
“Papa mere kal hi discharge hue, ICU me the, unko brain stroke aaya tha. Beech me main ghar bhi gaya tha, hospital gaya tha. Jab aaya tha to papa se sar pe haath rakhwa kr aaya tha. Maine kaha papa aap theek ho jao, main aapke liye khelunga. Papa mujhe dekhna hi chahte the, aur mujhe lag raha hai vo bhut khush honge agar vo match dekhe honge to [My father was discharged from the ICU yesterday itself. He suffered from a brain stroke. I had gone home to see him once in the hospital. Had taken his blessings and told that I would play for him. He wanted to watch me play, and I guess he would have been very happy if he did tonight].”
Mohsin Khan reveals his own struggle with injury
Mohsin played only his second match of this season tonight, after having undergone his left shoulder surgery last year. In fact, he hadn’t bowled at all since the previous IPL edition, when he was LSG’s second-highest wicket-taker.
Failing to name the injury or its complex details, Khan simply stated that his hand arteries were blocked. In fact, such serious was the nature of his injury that he was not sure whether he would be able to play again.
The left-arm pacer even went on to reveal how his doctor had remarked that had he been late (for surgery) by a month, he would have been left with no other option but to cut his hand off altogether!
