Gujarat Titans will go head-to-head against Chennai Super Kings in Indian Premier League 2023 Qualifier 1. Gujarat’s pacer Mohammed Shami has been in incredible form in the tournament so far. For Chennai, their opener Ruturaj Gaikwad has been one of their most consistent performers.

Gaikwad wasn’t at his best in IPL 2022, but he has bounced back with a bang this time around. He has already scored 504 runs this season at an average of 42 and an incredible strike rate of 148.23. With three half-centuries under his name, the right-handed batter would look to continue his rhythm during the playoffs as well.

Shami, on the contrary, has been terrific with the new ball this season and he will carry the responsibility to take the wickets of Chennai up front. He is leading the race for Purple Cap (teammate Rashid Khan also has 24 wickets) with 24 wickets at an economy of 7.70. He has an average and strike rate of 17.66 and 13.75 respectively.

Gaikwad has so far faced 57 deliveries off Shami in the IPL and has managed to score just 40 runs at a nominal strike rate of 70.17. Although Shami has not dismissed Gaikwad till now, but he has surely managed to trouble him.
