Shere Bangla National Stadium Dhaka pitch report: India vs Bangladesh Mirpur pitch report 1st ODI tomorrow match

Team India has arrived in Bangladesh’s capital city of Dhaka to partake in the three-match ODI series followed by a couple of Tests against the hosts, with the first One-Dayer to take place on December 4 (Sunday), at the Shere Bangla National Stadium.

Senior, experienced players in all-format skipper Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, and KL Rahul have already began with their preparations, and are all set to play their first international match post India’s semi-final exit in the T20 World Cup.

Bangladesh, on the other hand, are set to feature in an ODI contest after August, when they lost the three-match away series against Zimbabwe 1-2.

Team India have also arrived after losing the three-match away ODI series against New Zealand 0-1.

The hosts have been handed a dent before the start of the series itself, with their skipper Tamim Iqbal ruled out for at least three weeks, after suffering a groin injury. Also, their pacer in form Taskin Ahmed will also be out of action come Sunday, after complaining of a back issue. Litton Das will be leading Banlgadesh in the entire three ODIs in Tamim’s absence.

Shere Bangla National Stadium Dhaka pitch report

The Shere Bangla Stadium will tomorrow host its first ODI since May 2021. The last time the hosts played at this venue, they were hammered against Sri Lanka with a margin of 97 runs.

The average first innings score at this venue stands at 228 runs, which is a result of the spinners slowing the pace of the innings during the latter half of the innings.

While the spinners are expected to extract the expected amount of turn from the surface tomorrow, the pacers will have to rely on tight line and lengths, with the pitch likely to not offer much movement even with the new ball.

Overall, the fresh pitch will be conducive for the batters during both the innings, with the captain winning the Toss likely to bat first and set a challenging target.
