Sony SIX Tata Sky channel number: Which Sony channel broadcasts cricket in India?

The ongoing India-Bangladesh series, England-Pakistan Test series, Australia-South Africa Test series, or even the Big Bash League 2022-23 and Lanka Premier League 2022. The Sony Sports Network has the broadcasting rights for all of these high-octane action taking place in the Cricketing fraternity.

However, on the occasion of Diwali this year, the Sony Pictures Network India (SNPI) decided to rebrand all the channels of its network, to give it a latest look and feel in order to have an appeal before its global audience.

‘The work that we started three years ago has now reached fruition. We are creating a powerful unified entertainment conglomerate with a broader appeal by refocusing our existing channel portfolio in its latest look and feel,” remarked the MD and CEO of SNPI.

Alongside its sports channels, the network also has a host of general entertainment channels, Hindi movie channels, Hindi comedy entertainment channels, and other regional channels covering different genres. In ‘Sony LIV’, the network also has a digital entertainment Video-on-Demand streaming platform.

As of October 2022, the company had over 700 million viewers in India, with the network functional in 167 countries.

Which Sony channel broadcasts cricket in India?

As part of the change, the Sony Sports Network channels – Sony Ten 1,  Sony Ten 1 HD, Sony Ten 2, Sony Ten 2 HD, Sony Ten 3, Sony Ten 3 HD, Sony Ten 4, Sony Ten 4 HD, have been rebranded as Sony Sports Ten 1,  Sony Sports Ten 1 HD, Sony Sports Ten 2, Sony Sports Ten 2 HD, Sony Sports Ten 3, Sony Sports Ten 3 HD; Sony Sports Ten 4, Sony Sports Ten 4 HD respectively.

The word ‘Sports’ has been included in all of these channels, followed by a change in the channel logo and design as well.

Also, ‘Sony SIX’, and ‘Sony SIX HD’ which used to telecast quite a many international Cricket matches, has been rebranded to Sony Sports Ten 5 and Sony Sports Ten 5 HD respectively.

While Sony Sports Ten 5 and Sony Sports Ten 2 provides its viewers live Cricketing action in English commentary, Sony Ten 3 is dedicated to sporting action in Hindi commentary. Also, newly launched Sony Sports 4 has been dedicated to users interested at following the matches in Tamil or Telugu commentary.

Cricketing action with regards to matches played by team India is always telecast in Sony Sports Ten 5, Sony Sports Ten 3, and its HD channels as well.
