Being hit for five Sixes off consecutive deliveries in a rare occurrence in competitive Cricket, yes. But one would have to possibly wait for many, many a matches to witness someone accomplish the same, with the team requiring 28 runs to win the contest off the remaining five deliveries.

Rinku Singh has had his name etched in the minds of the fans possibly till the IPL exists, and so has the left-arm pacer Yash Dayal, who was the victim of the last Over shellacking.

While Rinku has carried on with his decent form in the following matches as well, Yash Dayal’s absence was noted in the very next match from the Gujarat Titans‘ playing XI. In fact, he had not played a single match for the Titans since his side suffered the infamous loss in Ahmedabad.

Post winning the fifth match of the ongoing season tonight, at the very venue where the aforementioned match had taken place on April 9, Titans’ skipper Hardik Pandya was asked during an interaction with Star Sports whether or not Yash will indeed get an opportunity to play another match this season.

Pandya in reply, while remarked that he cannot be sure about the same, went on to further reveal that the left-arm pacer has been down will illness since the past 10 days or so, and has lost around 7-8 kilograms due to its effect.

Asked about the reason for the same, Pandya mentioned that it is was due to the spread of viral infection during that period, and which meant that Dayal would have to wait for quite some time to be match ready.

“I can’t confirm that (on his chances of playing again this season). He fell ill and lost 7-8 kilos after that match. There was a spread of viral infection during that period and also due to the pressure he had faced, his condition is presently not good enough to take the field. Someone’s loss is someone’s gain at the end of the day. It is going to take a long time before we see him on the field,” Pandya remarked.
