After the disappointing Ashes last year in Australia, it was looking like the end of the journey for English veteran James Anderson. However, when Ben Stokes became the captain of the side, he said that both James Anderson and Stuart Broad will play a big role under his regime.

Anderson has played some great cricket this year, where he scalped 36 wickets in 9 tests this year at an average of 19.81. Even in the ongoing test series against Pakistan, Anderson displayed his magic of reverse swing and scalped 8 wickets in just a couple of games.
The highest wicket-taking pacer in the history of test cricket is still going strong and is expected to lead the English attack in the next year’s Ashes as well. Anderson will aim to take revenge of the last Ashes in home conditions.
James Anderson eager to play for England under Ben Stokes
James Anderson is rested for the 3rd test against Pakistan in Karachi, and while on the sidelines, he spoke with Nasser Hussain where he had a lot of praise about England’s captain Ben Stokes. He insists that Stokes’ mindset is now forcing him to play for England even beyond the Ashes.
After Stokes’ arrival, Anderson has rejuvenated his career, and he has been handled really well by the management as well. With the New Zealand series up front, the veteran pacer said that he can play a lot more cricket under the leadership of Stokes.
“I have been around for 20 years and [Stokes’] attacking mindset is making me think differently about the game,” James Anderson told Nasser Hussain on Sky Sports.
“It has been a breath of fresh air and I feel I could carry on for a number of years in this regime.”
Anderson further re-instated that he is currently facing no troubles in his body and he even he don’t know till when he will continue to play at the international level. He again talked about the regime of Stokes where he and McCullum have adapted some really fun training sessions as well for the players.
“That hunger to keep getting better is crucial and I am fortunate my body can cope with the strains of Test cricket, so as long as I have that hunger, who knows how long I can keep going on for,” Anderson added.
