Cristiano Ronaldo: Juventus star makes huge statement over Ballon d'Or following Nations League triumph

Cristiano Ronaldo has stated that he does not know if he deserves Ballon d’Or.

Cristiano Ronaldo captained Portugal to 1-0 victory over the Netherlands in the UEFA Nations League final on Sunday. The Portuguese International has won his second trophy in two months – with already Serie A in stake.

The Juventus forward has not found the back of the net thirty times in a single season for the first time in 12 years. However, he has endured a successful time with his club and country – netting some of the important goals en route to triumph.

Cristiano Ronaldo has spoken with Cadena Ser after Portugal’s Nations League win: “I won three competitions, there has never been a moment in my career where I’ve played badly. Numbers in the last 16 years speak for themselves. What can I do more? I don’t know if I deserve to win the Ballon d’Or. I am not judging myself, you are the ones who should do it”.

Portugal overcame the odds to win the Euro in 2016, but they went through a rough patch in the World Cup. However, they have bounced back to win the Nations League in three years.

Cristiano Ronaldo believes that all side of Portugal is going through a nice time with incredible support from the fans.

“Portugal national team is going through an incredible moment since 2016, when we won the Euros. We are having fan and I am happy, win titles is very important. The support of fans was incredible, for my and my team-mates. Fans helped us to win the title. I am feeling well. I want to help young players and they want to help me, it’s a perfect connection”.

Cristiano Ronaldo made just two appearances but managed to score three in this competition. Bernardo Silva was rightly adjudged as the Man of the Tournament.
