Cristiano Ronaldo says winning Champions League with multiple clubs separates him from Lionel Messi

Cristiano Ronaldo says winning Champions League with multiple clubs makes him different from Barcelona star Lionel Messi.

Cristiano Ronaldo, one of the greatest players to ever grace the game has always been vocal about his abilities and opined himself highly whenever asked. The Portuguese International has never shied away from speaking on his comparison with Lionel Messi.

The football fraternity is split into two halves in the debate to decide who is better between Messi and Ronaldo, as both the players have incredible records to boast.

However, Ronaldo has always considered him the best player of the past 20 years, and this time in interaction with DAZN, the 34-year-old superstar has made a statement on his rivalry with Messi and stated what separates him from the Argentine International.

“The difference with Messi is that I played for several clubs and won the Champions League with different clubs,” Ronaldo spoke to DAZN.

“I was the top scorer in the Champions League six seasons in a row. There aren’t many players who won five Champions League trophies, so this is why I feel that I can identify myself with this tournament.”

“Messi is an excellent player who will be remembered not just for his Ballon d’Or wins, but also for having improved—like me—year after year.

“I wake up every morning with the idea in my head of training with the objective of achieving something more, not just to earn money. Thank God, I don’t lack money, so what I want to earn is a place in the history of football.” he further said.

With his recent performances in the previous editions of the Champions League, Ronaldo has shown that he is certainly the greatest player in the Champions League and his success with all the clubs he played for is advocated for his case in the greatest of all-time debate.

Although, Messi has his own extraordinary feats to present his case, and his case for loyalty with Barcelona is not a hidden fact. The Messi Vs Ronaldo debate is never-ending, and one shall enjoy both playing with the few remaining years both the players have until their retirements.
