Cristiano Ronaldo wants Marcelo at Juventus

Cristiano Ronaldo made it clear that he wanted a move to the Italian heavyweight in the summer transfer window. The transfer fee is 100 million, but the Old Lady’s team value has rocketed from 590 million to 1.43 billion with a span of 9 months which is truly astonishing.

His presence has been felt on the pitch as well. It took three games for him to break the deadlock with the Turin outfit against Sassuolo at the Juventus Stadium. He scored a brace in that game to kick start his new life in Italy.

The Portuguese International leads the way by top scoring within his squad and the league with 16 goals this term. It has been an eventful season for the Old Lady who have dropped just 4 points after 20 games and they sit convincingly with a 6 point lead over the second-placed Napoli.

During his 9-year stint with the Los Blancos, he won plenty of personal and collective accolades including the Ballon d’Or, Champions League, and the La Liga. According to the Spanish publication AS, Cristiano Ronaldo has asked Juventus to buy the left-back Marcelo from Real Madrid.

It is not the first time Cristiano Ronaldo has tried to lure Marcelo to Italy.

When he was asked which Real Madrid player he would at Juventus, Ronaldo responded “I see you write about James, Bale, Asensio but if I’m honest, Juventus do not need other players.

“You must talk to the president. On the future, I do not know. Marcelo is strong, we open the doors to good players and Marcelo is one of them.”

On the other hand, the Brazilian full-back has always spoken about his desire to stay at Santiago Bernabeu until he hangs up his boots.

When he put pen to paper two years ago, Marcelo said “Madrid has been my second home and I would love to finish here.”

However, during recent weeks, there has been hefty criticism on the Brazilian after he has been struggling in the defensive aspect of the game. The reigning Champions League winner has not kicked off the post Zinedine Zidane era in a superior fashion as he does.

The Brazilian said that Real Madrid are currently missing Cristiano Ronaldo “He is a player who as well as being my team-mate is my friend, as he is with Sergio [Ramos] and Luka [Modric],”

“It’s obvious that when the best player in the world isn’t in your team you’re going to miss him. But I don’t want to say that we don’t have the best players in the world in every position.

“Any team would like to have Cristiano with them, but Madrid will continue to be Madrid despite players coming and going.”

Juventus are currently doing with Marcelo’s compatriot Alex Sandro through the left defensive flank. Should any deal materialize this summer, there is no doubt that rotation could be on the cards.
