Daniel James scores a sensational goal for Wales vs Belarus in their crucial Euro 2020 qualifying match last night at Cardiff.
Manchester United’s latest acquisition, Daniel James has turned out to be a sensation this season. Doubts were raised over his calibre before the season had even begun with many questioning whether he would be able to successfully transition from a championship player to a Premier League one.
It is safe to say that James has successfully silenced many of his doubters even if it is only early days still. At only 21, James has now made a name for himself with his ability to cut in from the left and steer the ball effortlessly into the opposite corner.
He did it against Crystal Palace and Southampton earlier with Manchester United and he was back at it again, this time in national colors. He has now found the net 4 times in 6 games this season for club and country.
Wales would go on to achieve a 1-0 victory. However, the scoreline severely fails to reflect the welsh dominance in the game. Regardless, they will be happy to bag full points as the race for a spot in the Euro 2020 intensifies.

Ryan Giggs, the Welsh manager spoke highly of his winger after the match.
He said:
“Early on when I saw DJ, just like any young winger; there can be that improvement in the final ball and scoring more goals. But he’s doing that.
“To do what he’s done at the start of the season is amazing. The next step obviously is that consistency, which he’s shown so far and he needs to carry on.
“But I’ve got no doubts that will happen because he wants to be the best.”
The win has come at a very crucial time for Wales. Group E leader Croatia, were held to a 1-1 draw by Azerbaijan and Hungary, who are at second place, succumbed to a defeat against Slovakia at home.
Wales are now four points behind Croatia and three adrift of Hungary and Slovakia. They also have a game in hand on all their rivals in Group E.
Euro 2020 does not seem like a distant dream anymore. If the team manages to perform as well as they did last night, Giggs’ boys will surely make it to another Euro where they will hope to better their last performance.
