De Gea’s save vs Juventus: The Manchester United goalkeeper made a breathtaking save against Ronaldo during the Champions League clash.
Manchester United slumped to a 1-0 defeat against Juventus in their third Champions League game of the group. A first-half goal from Paolo Dybala was enough to secure Juventus three points in the game.
With this win, Manchester United are now 5 points behind the Italian champions. However, they were benefitted by Valencia’s draw against Young Boys. Jose Mourinho’s side are two points ahead of the Spanish side, at 2nd in their group.
Manchester United were overtly defensive in the first half, and threatened the Juventus defence at times in the final 45 minutes, but couldn’t find the breakthrough.
David De Gea, on the other hand, made a few fine saves, but the save of the match came in the second half when De Gea made an acrobatic effort to deny Ronaldo his goal at Old Trafford.
De Gea’s save vs Juventus:
Cristiano Ronaldo attempted the shot outside the box towards the top-right corner of the goal. The shot forced De Gea to make a stunning effort, and the Spanish goalkeeper managed to deny the Juventus forward.

This was the closest Cristiano Ronaldo came to scoring against his former club throughout the game.
However, the save from De Gea couldn’t alter Manchester United’s fate in the game, as a poor set of moves in the final third costed the home side three points.
What next?
Manchester United will meet Juventus in their return leg in Turin next month. The side will return to Premier League action this weekend as they take on Everton. Jose Mourinho will aim to bring Manchester United’s season back on track with a win against the Merseyside club.
Manchester United have registered only one win in their last seven games across all competitions so far.
