Denis Suarez to Arsenal: Unai Emery’s side has been shaky over the last few weeks and reinforcement in January would be a big boost.

Arsenal have been disappointing off late. With their latest loss against West Ham last weekend, the Gunners have dropped points in five games since the beginning of December which include three losses.

The situation is further worsened with Mesut Ozil’s issues with Unai Emery. The midfielder has played for only 155 minutes in the Premier League since November 25. He missed five league games due to troubles with his back and knee during this time.

However, he was not included in the game against West Ham despite being fit for contention in the game.

While Unai Emery has earlier confirmed in one of the press conferences this month that Arsenal can only make loan moves in this window, it has been reported that Arsenal are finally closing in on Denis Suarez.

Denis Suarez to Arsenal:

The Barcelona midfielder is heavily linked with a move to Emirates Stadium. However, the speculations surrounding his move cooled down after Emery confirmed that Arsenal won’t make transfers this month.

However, the Gunners didn’t stop the pursuit for Suarez, and according to reports, they’re already closing in on a loan deal for the player.

It has been earlier reported that Suarez wants to leave Barcelona, and Gazzetta Dello Sport’s Nicolo Schira states that the Catalan club has given their go-ahead for the move.

Calciomercato has also reported that a loan move, amounting to 2 million euros loan-fee is close, with an obligatory buy-out clause for the summer.

Denis Suarez has previously played under Unai Emery during his time at Sevilla, where he played 47 games across all competitions as the Spanish side lifted the Europa League trophy that season.

Arsenal are currently fifth in the Premier League table and a string of disappointing results has caused the risk of losing the place to Manchester United, who are currently level on points with the Gunners.
