Dinesh Karthik responds to Sreesanth’s claims of him being the reason behind his exclusion from the Indian team in a recent interview.

S Sreesanth has made a career out of being in the news. The Indian cricketer who played for India in all 3 formats before being handed a life ban is in the news again; This time for his claims that Dinesh Karthik was responsible for his ouster from the Indian team.

The fast bowler was part of both the 2007 T20 and the 2011 world cup winning squads. However, his legacy was tarnished during the 2013 IPL. He was accused of spot fixing along with former Rajasthan Royal players Ajit Chandila and Ankit Chavan.
Through BCCI’s own investigation, the pacer was banned for life. However, the BCCI Ombudsman ordered his life ban to be reduced to 7 years in August. Which means that he will be eligible to return to cricket in September 2020.
Sreesanth has now set his sights on a return to the Indian team. However, his aim at a comeback has already started roughly after his allegations that India wicketkeeper Dinesh Karthik was behind his ouster from the team.

In an interview with The Hindu, Dinesh Karthik laughed off Sreesanth’s claims and refused to acknowledge the statement made by the pacer from Kerala.
“Yes, I have heard about S Sreesanth’s comments that I was responsible for his ouster from the Indian team. Even to react to an allegation like that will be silly,” he said.
The mercurial pacer has never shied from speaking his mind regardless of how controversial it sounds. He recently admitted to hating Chennai SuperKings and has continuously been in the news for his on and off field antics.
