"Donovan Mitchell gave him his Beats right off his head": When Jazz All star’s gesture to gift a fan his headphones earned him praise

Donovan Mitchell has an exemplary reputation around fans. He did something right in line with that image by gifting a stranger his headset.

Mitchell was one of the most vocal Black Lives Matter advocates during the Covid-19 season break. He backed up his off-court work with a legendary performance against the Nuggets in the first round of playoffs.

Mitchell and Jamal Murray combined to score the highest points by a duo in a playoff series. Although the Jazz fell to a series defeat despite holding a 3-1 lead, it was for no fault of Don’s.

The Jazz guard signed a max extension in the offseason, a contract that could go as high as up to $196 million by the end of 5 years. He seems locked in this season and determined to lead the Jazz to their deepest playoff run in a while.

An Instagram reel recirculated today features footage of Mitchell interacting with fans. It was during pre-Covid times last season, when fans could interact with their favorite players a lot more easily.

The New York-born Donovan seems completely at ease, agreeing to every one of his fans’ photo and autograph requests. He then proceeded to take his Beats headphones off his ears and put them on that of a bystander. The reaction given by the recipient is absolutely priceless.

Mitchell and the Jazz are among those teams in the NBA who are very hard to root against. They are an organically built side in a small market that doesn’t attract marquee free agents. They’ve run their organization as efficiently as any in the league, despite not having championship success. As neutrals, people would hope that his Jazz get to make a postseason run before long.
