Drunk Sri Lankan fan witnessed harassing foreign couple during Sri Lanka vs West India 1st T20I at the Pallekele International Cricket Stadium on Sunday.

The ongoing series between Sri Lanka and West Indies has been played in good spirits. Off the pitch however, a drunk Sri Lankan fan was witnessed harassing a foreign couple in the stands during the Sri Lanka vs West Indies 1st T20I match.

The drunkard had taken offence to the female foreign national wrapping the Sri Lankan flag around her body. He then decided to verbally abuse the couple. However, no one was seen intervening in the matter. Fortunately, the act was caught on camera and the video has gone viral on social media.

Several Sri Lankan supporters have since gone on to express their apologies to the couple. They have also condemned the action of the man and demanded he be liable for his actions.

According to the Daily Mirror, Tourism Minister Prasanna Ranatunga has said that he has informed the Ministry Secretary to send the video footage to the IGP requesting him to carry out an investigation into the incident.

Coming back to the match itself, West Indies powered their way to a win after smashing 196-4 in their allotted 20 overs. In response, Sri Lanka fell short by 25 runs with Oshane Thomas picking a 5 wicker haul, including 3 in his very first over.
