DUR vs LAN Dream11 Team: Durham Jets look to make it two wins on the bounce while Lancashire Lightning look to finally get their season underway.

The first Sunday of the Vitality Blast is upon us and beginning proceedings on the day will the Durham Jets and Lancashire Lighting who’ll be clashing against each other today. While Durham Jets won their opening match of the new season, for Lancashire this match accords with the opportunity to finally make an advent into the league.

With England being currently lashed by one of their worst rains, the English T20 Blast has had to suffer with several matches being truncated without a single ball being bowled. And one such side to have seen their match being abandoned were Lancashire Lightning whose opening encounter against Leicestershire failed to see even a single minute being played.

Now up for their second match of the showpiece league, Lancashire will be wishing for better weather conditions when they face off against a Durham Jets side who regaled us with their clinical bowling performance. Restricting Notts Outlaws to a mere 141-9, Durham pulled off one of the finest defence till now in the league to win by 7 runs after putting on 148-4 while batting first.

They’ll be turning to their same defiant bowling line-up to help them make it two straight wins why they square off against a Lancashire side who are currently depleted. The side have a severe void in their batting department with several international outstanding performers missing owing to the recently concluded CWC and could end up being pummelled if Durham can emulate their bowling show.

 Probable Winner

While the bowling was pinch perfect for Durham, the batting line-up still left too much to be desired. Despite having a 69 run platform from the opening pair, the rest of the batsmen failed to capitalise on the start, registering just 79 in the second part of their innings.

However with Lancashire heavily relying on their domestic performers to serve them fruitfully in this one, we see Durham registering a win here. They have already tested their best playing 11 once and with a better knowhow of the conditions, we see them utilising their bowling unit more effectively.

Wicket-Keepers for DUR vs LAN Dream11

Middle-order bat and captain of his side, Stuart Poynter is our pick for this one. He managed to whack the ball around in the death overs the last time around, getting to 19 and could come up with another vital cameo today.

From Lancashire we have Dane Vilas coming in for us. With Jos Buttler out of the side till 25th July, Vilas will not only play a key role behind the wickets but also become a pivotal player with the bat as well.

Batters for DUR vs LAN Dream11

His 37 run innings see Durham’s opener Scott Steel being imbedded into our side. His knock was a good one, an innings where he played the ball all around the park to impress us with his expansive range of strokeplay.

With Ben Stokes missing as well from the side, Liam Livingstone in the opening slot and Alex Davies come into our side. Davies in particular stood tall among everyone else in the County Championship Division 2 for Lancashire and we see him using his same skill set to parry away Durham’s deadly bowling unit today.

All-Rounders for DUR vs LAN Dream11

The 46 runs and 2 wickets for D’Arcy Short see him coming into our side for Durham along with Ben Raine who was expensive but managed to snare a wicket up. The two are the mainstays of the Durham outfit with their contributions with the bat being extremely important to the side’s consummate success this league.

With both James Faulkner and Glenn Maxwell out of action, the onus will heavily rest on Steven Croft for Lancashire. He comes into our side given the role he’s going to be handed out by Lancashire today.

Bowling Order for DUR vs LAN Dream11

The two man partnership from Durham is represented by Nathan Rimmington and Matty Potts. Potts was in flawless touch the last time around, peppering batsmen with his shape on the ball, seeing it come across into them owing to his massive versatile capabilities.

Graham Onions from Lancashire is one of their most experienced and sound player and he wraps up our Dream 11 side.

Captain And Vice-Captain

Alex Davies has been chosen as our captain while D’Arcy Short is our vice-captain.
