Real Madrid have made Hazard their priority signing for the summer, as they have been encouraged by the Belgian’s response to the initial talks.

Belgian international Eden Hazard has admitted that he would want to play for Zinedine Zidane’s Real Madrid if the club comes calling for the midfielder.

Further, the midfielder also expressed that he is open to a reunion with his former boss Jose Mourinho at the Old Trafford, although he stressed that he is happy at Stamford Bridge with Chelsea.

Over the last couple of years, the Frenchman Zidane has come out in open to praise the midfielder for his playing style. The Belgian international too has been a long-standing fan of the Madrid manager, who also inspired him to play football.

Hazard’s Idol:

Zidane, since his appointment in 2016 has won back-to-back Champions League to become the first side to win the European trophy consecutively. Eden confirmed that he would love to work under Zidane if there exists such an opportunity.

“Everyone knows the respect I have for the man,” the 26-year-old said. “For the player he was and for the coach he is, he was my idol. Of course I don’t know what will happen in my career in the future, but to play under him would be a dream.

“At this time, though, I’m happy at Chelsea. I still have a lot of things to do at Chelsea, and I’m focused on Chelsea.”

Reunion with Mourinho:

The midfielder, whose contract at Chelsea runs until 2020, won the 2014-15 Premier League title under the tutelage of Mourinho during the Portuguese’s second spell in charge of the Blues. Various reports suggested that there was a fall-out between the duo, but all the reports have been squashed by the Belgian.

“It wouldn’t bother me to play under Jose Mourinho again.” said the midfielder. However, his best moment according to him came in the French League, while he was playing at Lille.

“The Double achieved with Lille in 2011 was a very big moment because no one expected us to do that. It wasn’t programmed,” he concluded.
