Barcelona is set to wear the retro jersey from the 90s for the heavyweight clash against Real Madrid.

Nike will commemorate the 20 years of their tie with Barcelona with a special ‘retro’ edition.

The Barca players will don the jersey against Real Madrid in the El Clasico tie in the league this weekend.

Barcelona will be aiming for a second win against their arch-rivals in four days as they play Real at Santiago Bernabeu. A brace from Luis Suarez inspired Barca to a 3-0 win in the second leg of the Copa del Rey earlier this week.

Barca qualified for the final with the win, taking on Valencia to retain the trophy.

According to reports, Nike’s special edition jersey will be a tribute to the 1998-99 kit which was worn by the likes of Pep Guardiola, Luis Figo and Patrick Kluivert. The jersey doesn’t feature a sponsor.

After the game, Barcelona will reportedly put the jersey on a sale for €140 for the authentic match version of the jersey, and €90 for the replica version.

Nike recently launched a special “mashup” jersey last year, which included parts of all the kits released by Nike for Barcelona throughout the 20 years.

Barcelona are currently at the top of the table and stand nine points ahead of Real Madrid in the league table. Santiago Solari’s side, meanwhile, is third in La Liga.

Luis Suarez scored a brace for Barcelona in the second leg of the semifinal of the Copa del Rey earlier this week, with Raphael Varane scoring an own goal. The Uruguayan forward has scored 11 goals against Real Madrid since joining Barcelona across all competitions.

Valverde’s men are on course for another domestic double, as they are seven points ahead of Atletico Madrid, who are second.
