The match was however, overshadowed by the 19-year old getting involved in a mass brawl with Werder Bremen players. It started when Dortmund’s Giovanni Reyna was pushed inside the box. Earlier in the match, Werder took a two-goal lead by half-time. Sensational teenager, Erling Haaland, was introduced in the 48th minute and cut the difference to one goal in the 67th minute. However, Werder scored a 3rd goal 3 minutes later.

Reyna scored for Dortmund in the 78th minute but Dortmund failed to find the equaliser and eventually crashed out of the competition.

Regardless of the skirmish he found himself in, Halaand is having a phenomenal run in Germany. With his 2nd half strike, he became the first player ever to score eight times in his first four appearances for a Bundesliga club.
