Amid Taylor Swift Rumors, Fernando Alonso’s Ex-Girlfriend Provides Fan With Update on Their Relationship Status

Fernando Alonso and Taylor Swift’s rumored relationship became the talking point among F1 fans during the unusually long recent three-week break. F1 action is now back, with the Azerbaijan GP taking place last weekend but the Alonso-Swift saga is still going strong.

Alonso hasn’t confirmed his relationship with Swift, and the Spaniard’s rumored girlfriend definitely wasn’t in attendance at the Baku street circuit. However, Alonso’s ex-girlfriend Viki Odintcova was in attendance and even answered a fan’s query regarding Alonso’s relationship status.

Odintcova was rumored to be in a relationship with Alonso back in 2016, although nothing serious materialized out of it. As she posted pictures of her experience in Baku on Instagram, a fan asked her if Fernando Alonso was the boyfriend she was accompanying. Without saying or revealing much, she gave an update to the fan on her post by simply commenting, “No.”

Is Fernando Alonso really dating Taylor Swift?

Ahead of the Azerbaijan GP last week, a reporter asked Fernando Alonso about the Taylor Swift rumors, which the two-time F1 champion ended up carefully avoiding. Alonso simply said that he had “nothing to say”, before quickly changing the subject to the complicated structure of the sprint weekend.

Alonso, however, is aware of the speculation, banter, and memes all over social media. He posted a video on Tik Tok, where a Taylor Swift song was playing in the background, with him winking at the camera. So far, nothing about Alonso’s relationship with Swift has been confirmed.

As F1 heads to Miami for the second-ever race at the Miami International Autodrome, fans are hoping that Swift makes an appearance trackside, which could all but put these rumors to rest.

Fernando Alonso happy with Azerbaijan performance

While speculation surrounding Alonso’s relationship status loomed large away from the track, the Aston Martin driver’s focus didn’t shift. He was still committed to performing at a top level, and delivered at the Azerbaijan GP. Ferrari’s jump in performance meant that Alonso and Aston Martin started the weekend on the back foot.

Regardless, the former Ferrari driver was able to pull off a stunning overtake on current Scuderia star Carlos Sainz heading into turn 6. He left everyone else behind, and tried his level best to overtake the other Ferrari driver, Charles Leclerc in order to secure his fourth consecutive podium finish of 2023.

Unfortunately, Leclerc’s pace was too much for Alonso to handle. He settled for P4 in the end, but was happy with how the car felt and was proud of his performance. At the upcoming Miami GP, Alonso will be hoping to get one better on the Ferrari drivers, and finish on the podium once again.
