An Innocent Request Gives Carlos Sainz the Motive to Win His 2nd GP Only to Pull Crazy Dance Moves on the Podium

The Ferrari F1 team have struggled massively this season, as their drivers have rarely made an appearance on the podium. Charles Leclerc has finished on the podium thrice this campaign, while Carlos Sainz has managed to do so just once. While both drivers have managed to clinch a podium finish, they are still far away from winning a race. However, an innocent request from a fan may just provide Sainz the necessary motivation to win his second F1 race.

The Spaniard recently opened up in an interview with P1 with Matt & Tommy‘s official YouTube channel on how his fans mean a lot to him. The 29-year-old stated that he makes sure to give his fans the time to show his appreciation for them to support Ferrari. After stating the same, Sainz also narrated an interaction he recently had with a young fan.

Carlos Sainz explains the request he received from a young fan

While speaking on the interview, Carlos Sainz said, “The other day, I met a young fan. When he left, he said, ‘Carlos, when you win again, can you celebrate for me? Can you do a celebration that I can spot and you can remember me?’ Yeah, go on, tell me what you want me to celebrate“.

The Spaniard then explained how the fan wanted him to do a steering wheel celebration on the podium. After stating the same, Sainz told the fan that if he were to win again, he would perform this celebration. While Ferrari are way off the pace to register a win anytime soon, Sainz has revealed how determined he is to register a victory this season.

Sainz believes he will have an opportunity to win this season

While speaking in an interview towards the end of last month, Carlos Sainz explained how he believes that he will have his opportunity to register a victory sometime this season. In order to do that, he will have to beat Max Verstappen, who has been on a record-breaking run, having won 10 races in a row.

Despite the same, Sainz believes that it is possible for him to win this season. As quoted by f1i.com, the Spaniard said, “I don’t fully believe Max is going to win every weekend. I know you guys see it in a very drastic, dramatic way“.

Sainz then acknowledged that while Verstappen has been driving at a very high level, he made it clear that the Dutchman too can make a mistake that may provide him and Ferrari an opportunity for a race win. However, he did admit that doing the same would be incredibly difficult as neither Verstappen nor Red Bull have put a foot wrong so far.
